Pope Hormisdas (c. 450 – 6 August 523) was the Bishop of Rome from 21 July 514 to his death. His papacy was dominated by the Acacian Schism, which had divided Rome and Constantinople since 484. He succeeded in resolving the schism and reuniting the Eastern and Western churches in 519 through the Formula of Hormisdas.
